Holding a UEFA Pro License, his illustrious coaching career is spanning almost two decades. Tribulietx’s coaching journey began in the trenches of Spanish football, where he honed his craft as an Assistant Coach for various clubs, including UE Sant Andreu, UE Figueres, and UE Castelldefels. His strategic prowess and unwavering dedication propelled him to the helm of Auckland City FC, where he orchestrated an era of dominance, claiming an impressive 25 titles, including multiple NZ Premier League championships, Oceania Champions League triumphs, and FIFA Club World Cup conquests.

Known for his tactical astuteness and ability to inspire greatness in his players, Tribulietx is poised to lead United City FC to new heights of success. As the club navigates the ongoing Philippine Football League season, Tribulietx’s leadership will be instrumental in guiding the team through the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead to achieve success in Philippine football.

“We are very proud to welcome Ramon Tribulietx to United City FC as our new Head Coach,” said Eric M. Gottschalk, President of United City FC. “His track record of winning trophies, his deep understanding of the game, and his cultural awareness of building a team with different players from different cultures make him the perfect fit to get our title-ambitious 2024 PFL season back on track. We are confident that under his guidance, United City FC will bounce back after its rocky start to continue to compete at the highest level in the country.”

Expressing his excitement for the opportunity, Tribulietx stated, “I’m really looking forward to joining United City FC and the Philippine League. The main aim is to make sure that United City FC becomes a competitive football team and to make sure that the team becomes good on the ball and controls the games with the ball. This is, at the end of the day, about winning. So that will be my task for the next few weeks.”

“It’s always different when you’ve got time to prepare your team from pre-season than like in this occasion when you come in when the season has already started. We don’t have that much time. The players have been playing in a way with a different coach. Now I come in and I need to implement my ideas, and my personality to the team. That will take a while but hopefully, slowly I will be able to start convincing the players about how I like my team to play, and how I like my team to structure. I’m a coach who wants to dominate the games with the ball, with the position. We want to make sure that the team is organized on the ball and around the ball, with the ball and without the ball. And this is what I will be putting a lot of emphasis on in the next few weeks to make sure that very quickly the team understands how I like the structure to be like on the field and also you know my training and how I want training to look like. I suppose there’ll be a change and as I said doing that halfway through the season is not so easy, so I will take it easy I will go step by step.”

United City FC is thrilled to have Tribulietx on board and looks forward to the journey ahead under his leadership.
